If you can’t separate the liner from the film, place a piece of scotch tape on both sides of the sheet, fold the tape over to create tabs, and use the tabs to separate the two sides. If you are working with a large piece of film, it is helpful for two people to work together. There may be 2 reasons. 1. You didn't clean the windows thoroughly. There are caked dirt or paint left on the glass. 2. The film and the window are not wet enough. 1. The plastic liner of the film isn’t peeled off. 2. You didn’t trim the edges or leave a 1/16” wide gap around the four perimeter edges of the film. This gap is essential for the proper thermal expansion of the glass and allows you to completely squeegee the water and air from under the film. 3. The blade or the knife for cutting the film is not sharp, resulting in deformation at the edge of the film. ONLY apply this film on single pane of glass, or on modern double glazed units made of toughened glass (look for kite mark in corner of the pane).If you apply this film on glass that is not toughened, the glass could crack due to poor build quality especially on older units.
